The truly great people and cities of any generation were innovators—they were rule breakers. Other economic development people will tell you how they did it before—I will teach you to be an innovator and how to do it your own way with an eye firmly on the future—it will be your vision—not some overpaid consultant’s. That’s why I am such a big believer in charrettes—they allow for a
unique vision to emerge. If you want real innovation in your community—let’s talk. If you want to play it safe and be a cheap
imitation of another place—well have at it. Sounds boring to me.
